Gasoline prices for June reach new high

The price of gasoline sold at the pump has reached a new high after rising for 17 weeks.
In the first week of June, the national gas stations’ standard price of gasoline was 1,554.04 won ($1.67) per liter, 6.03 won higher than the record set on the third week of August last year.
Wholesale prices (before tax), which were going down last week, shot up to 616.07 won. On a regional basis, gasoline was the most expensive in Seoul at 1,620.62 won, rising 6.23 won higher than the previous week. North Jeolla gasoline prices were the lowest, at 1,517.41. The survey was based on gasoline prices at 980 locations nationwide.
SK Corp. had the highest gas prices at 1,561.04 per liter, followed by GS Caltex at 1,558.39 won, Hyundai Oilbank at 1,542.51 won and S-Oil at 1,545,59 won.
