Landor loses suit against Korean Air

Korea’s biggest carrier, Korean Air Lines Co., said yesterday it will receive $200,000 in compensation from Landor, a global brand development company, for the latter’s breach of contract. In January, Korean Air filed a demand for arbitration with the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board, or KCAB, against Landor for the latter’s breach of a corporate image service contract, seeking damages, interest and all costs and expenses worth an estimated $1.1 million.
The KCAB ruled last month that Landor should pay $200,000 in compensation to Korean Air and issue a written apology, Korean Air said, adding that Landor has accepted the ruling. Landor made a deal with Korean Air in June 2003 to do consultant work to improve the carrier’s corporate image by September 2004. Yonhap
