RODIN GALLERY
March 21 to May 25: “A Private Exhibition of Atta Kim.” In 2006, Korean photographer Atta Kim created a sensation in the international art world by becoming the first Asian artist to open a solo exhibition at New York’s International Center of Photography. Since 2002 Kim has abided by the philosophy that “everything that exists is bound to disappear.” In this exhibition, Kim’s ON-AIR Project will be shown along with some of his other work of Korea, New York, China and India.
Kim takes his photos using long shutter speeds and multiple exposures. His subjects in this exhibition range from the demilitarized zone, the busy streets of New York or Beijing’s Tiananmen Square. There is also a media space where the audience can see Kim’s major early works.
The gallery, located inside Samsung Plaza, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and closed on Mondays. Admission is 3,000 won ($3.11) for adults and 2,000 won for students.

SHIN YON ART HALL
Tomorrow to April 13: “Boeing Boeing.” The most performed French play in the world tells the story of a playboy who does anything he can to keep his three girlfriends from meeting. Written by Marc Comoletti, the play has been made into film three times. Bernard, an American journalist, makes real use of Paris, the city of love. He simultaneously romances three women, all flight attendants, who have no idea that Bernard sees other women. But Bernard’s plan encounters a hiccup when the flight attendants’ schedules change, bringing them each to his apartment at the same time. In this comedic romp, he does everything he can to keep them from learning about each other. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Tickets are 44,000 won.

Saturday to June 15: “Body Club” Remember “Coyote Ugly,” the film about scantily clad girls who danced on the bar where they worked? Well, add more nudity and you’ve got “Body Club,” a musical about strippers with hearts of gold. They may take off their clothes, but the characters in this musical tell their stories with equal parts disappointment, anger, hope and anticipation. Members of the audience may even get confused over whether they’re in a strip club or a theater.
The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Tickets range from 40,000 won to 50,000 won.

BAEK-AM ART HALL
March 28 to June 15: “The Goodbye Girl.” A great romantic comedy travels from Broadway to Seoul for the first time. In this unusual story, Elliot, a stubborn, arrogant actor, sublets his friend’s apartment. Problem is, when he moves in, he finds the apartment occupied by his friend’s ex-girlfriend Paula and her daughter. Paula and Elliot learn to deal with living together ― while discovering romance amid the bumps on the road. The show stars Ha Hee-ra, one of the most popular actresses in Korea, and Jung Sung-Hwa, a rising musical talent. The show is at 8 p.m. on weekdays except for Mondays, 4 and 8 p.m. on Wednesdays and 3 and 7 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Tickets are from 44,000 won to 55,000 won.

OPEN THEATER
April 5 to June 8: “Audition.” Is this a concert or a musical? That thought may run through your mind while you watch “Audition,” the story of a band called Boxpop. The youngsters who comprise Boxpop make music their first priority. As they prepare for an audition, they juggle romance and tragedy. This musical was nominated for four awards at the 13th Korean Musical Awards and took home best scenario.
The show is at 8 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 4 and 8 p.m. Wednesdays, 4 and 7:30 p.m. Saturdays and 3 and 6:30 p.m. Sundays and holidays. Tickets are 30,000 won for adults and 15,000 won for teenagers.

HELLO! CHAPLIN ORIGINAL FILM FESTIVAL, Sejong Center for the Performing Arts
Tomorrow to Sunday: World-renowned conductor Maestro Carl Davis, who has fascinated audiences in eight other countries with Charlie Chaplin’s original films, comes to Korea. Commemorating the 30th year since Chaplin’s death, Davis and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra play the scores alongside screenings of the comedian’s silent films. The films are some of the works made early in Chaplin’s career. Throughout the three-day festival, the orchestra will present “Behind the Screen,” “The Gold Rush,” “The Cure,” “City Light,” “The Adventure and Modern Times.” The orchestra will play at 7 p.m. each night. Tickets range from 28,000 won to 148,000 won.

ULJIN SNOW CRAB FESTIVAL, North Gyeongsang
March 28 to 30: Uljingun, a town famous for its snow crab celebrates its ninth year of this festival. Originally launched to inform people in Korea about Uljin’s local culture and create a boom in the local economy, the festival also provides a great opportunity for visitors to experience marine culture.
The opening ceremony includes the march of a Marine Corps honor guard and a gilnori, or traditional parade. During the festival, visitors can watch performances of the Korea-China circus and the Gyeongbuk Symphony Orchestra. Also scheduled are a tug-of-war, free ship rides and an eating contest.
From Seoul, take a bus bound for Uljin. The festival will be held at Hupo Harbor, by Hanmaeum Square.

SANSUYU FLOWER FESTIVAL, Yangpyeon, South Jeolla
March 28 to 30: The sansuyu is a type of yellow flower now in bloom in Guryre County, South Jeolla. Various local specialties, such as teas made with fruit and flowers, will be prepared. There will also be a sampling party for Korean beef. Other events will be a sansuyu sapling sale, a sansuyu composition contest and sketching contests. Participants in some events will be able to take home a souvenir keychain or a mobile phone decoration made from a photo of sansuyu blossoms.
The highlight of the festival will be the sansuyu flower carriage ride. Visitors may have to wait, but it is well worth it.

SEOUL ARTS CENTER
March 25: “BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.” Known as the proponent of the “new wave” for British orchestras, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra visits Seoul after its performance at the Tongyeong International Music Festival.
With Kim Sun-wook, a rising star pianist as a soloist, the orchestra plays Glinka’s Overture to “Russian and Ludmilla,” Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6.
Started as a small ensemble in 1926, the orchestra is now renowned as the best of the five orchestras under the British Broadcasting Corporation.
The show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets range from 40,000 won to 150,000 won.
