Founding family maintains SK presence

테스트

Choi Shin-won, chairman and CEO of SKC, is the eldest of the SK Group founder’s family members still actively participating in the business. He is the second son of founder Chey Jong-kun and cousin to the group’s current leader, Chey Tae-won.

Choi played a pivotal role in stabilizing the conglomerate’s management in 1998, when former leader Chey Jong-hyon, younger brother of Jong-kun and father of Tae-won, suddenly passed away amid the financial crisis.

The SKC labor union agreed with managers last year to never again go on strike, under his leadership, which focuses on harmony.

Chey Jae-won, vice chairman and CEO of SK E&S, a gas and power generation unit, is Tae-won’s younger brother.

He studied at Ivy League universities including Brown and Harvard and joined the group in 1994.

Chey Chang-won, vice chairman and CEO of SK Chemicals, is the founder’s third son and Shin-won’s younger brother. He also joined the conglomerate in 1994 and has worked mainly in finance and planning divisions.
