The Sungjoo Group was chosen as an “Outstanding Corporation” in the 2009 Ethics in Business Awards, sponsored by the International Association for Human Values. On Nov. 6, the Sungjoo Group received a high score internationally for its social responsibility programs. Chairperson & CEO Kim Sung-joo participated as a panel at the international meeting and accepted the award for Outstanding Corporation as the group’s representative, alongside Dr. Brigitte Mohn from the Bertelsmann Foundation, who received the award for Outstanding Individual.

A businesswoman from a Korean company receiving the award for the first time contributes to the national brand. The award paid tribute to Chairperson & CEO Kim Sung-joo’s sincere and heartfelt efforts to help the underprivileged and empower women to realize their role in building a more peaceful, equitable and prosperous world.

Previous recipients included Tata Services, ING Bank and GMR Group.

The International Association for Human Values is a non-profit organization started in Geneva in 1997. It researches human values in everyday life that contributes to society by holding symposiums and conferences related to corporate ethics.
