Pop singer Shoo to tie the knot with basketball player boyfriend

Shoo, a former member of the once-beloved Korean pop trio S.E.S., will officially be tying the knot with her boyfriend of two years, Lim Hyo-sung, a pro-basketball player with the Incheon ET Land Elephants.

According to Shoo’s entertainment group, Spinach Music, the tentative wedding date is April 11. The date may change if Lim’s basketball team advances to sixth place and qualifies for the KBL play-offs. With the

Elephants doing well in their first season under their new name, the chances of this are increasingly likely.

Shoo has said that she hopes that her fiancée would help his team advance into the play-offs, not worried about her wedding date potentially being pushed back.

Though the news of their relationship was only recently made public, the couple was introduced by an acquaintance in 2008 and they’ve been dating since then.

Shoo had previously given fans reason to be suspicious and ask questions about her relationship with Lim, after having been seen cheering for him at a game last November.

Shoo is the member of one of the leading girl groups from the late 1990s Korean pop scene. She debuted as part of S.E.S in 1997, and has been active in movies and musicals after the group disbanded in 2002. She

recently released a solo album after being on hiatus after eight years. She’s currently promoting her single, ‘Only You’ which is supposed to conjure up allusions to her new fiancée.

한편 슈는 올 초 임효성과의 열애를 공개한 바 있다. 최근 8년만에 솔로 앨범을 발표하고 활동 중인 슈는 최근 방송된 tvN ENEWS '비하인드스타'에서 남자친구 임효성에 대해 "오랫동안 친구로 지내왔던 좋은 사람이다"며 "지금까지 한 번도 싸운 적이 없을 정도로 잘 맞는 사이다"고 말했다.
