According to a statement released by Kim’s legal representative yesterday, Kim will be a major shareholder and her mother will be the CEO and shareholder of the company which was launched on April 20. Kim is currently signed with IB Sports, but her three-year current contract expires at the end of the month.
Starting in May, AT Sports will handle and manage all events and matters concerning Kim in the future. AT Sports will have the exclusive rights to arrange Kim’s ice shows, charity events as well as business and endorsement deals. Kim has been one of the most sought-after figures for advertisements in recent years.
“IB Sports handles many areas so there was a limit on managing Kim,” said Park Mi-hee, Kim’s mother. “We set up the company to meet Kim’s needs from her perspective. I decided we needed a management company that we can manage directly.”
AT Sports is located in Samseong-dong, southern Seoul. Other high-profile athletes have set up their own management companies in the past to increase their profits and cut down on expenses. National football team captain Park Ji-sung created JS Limited while golfer Park Se-ri created Seri Marketing.

AT스포츠는 향후 김연아의 활동과 관련한 매니지먼트를 담당하면서 김연아가 출연하는 아이스쇼 개최, 스포츠 꿈나무 육성 등으로 사업 범위를 넓혀나갈 계획이다.
