Song and Hyun confirm breakup

Celebrity couple Song Hye-kyo and Hyun Bin have confirmed they have broken off their two-year relationship.

According to a press release on Tuesday from Eden 9 Entertainment, Song’s management company, the two broke up in January because of their busy schedules.

“The couple had become close on the 2008 KBS drama, ‘The World They Live In,’ but drifted apart after that,” the press release said. “We didn’t release the news because we didn’t want to startle fans or hinder the stars’ careers.”

The agency added that Song and Hyun, who began his mandatory military service on Monday, will remain friends.

“현빈·송혜교 올해 초 헤어졌다” 소속사 공식발표

톱스타 커플 현빈(29)·송혜교(29)가 결별했다. 두 사람의 소속사인 에이엠엔터테인먼트와 이든나인은 8일 “배우 현빈과 송혜교가 올해 초 결별을 결정했음을 알려드린다”고 밝혔다. 소속사 측은 “현빈과 송혜교는 각자 드라마·영화 촬영 등으로 바쁘게 지내면서 자연스럽게 이전에 비해 관계가 소원해지게 되었다”고 전했다.

현빈과 송혜교는 2008년 12월 막을 내린 KBS 2TV 드라마 ‘그들이 사는 세상’에서 호흡을 맞추면서 실제 연인으로 발전한 뒤 2009년 8월 연인임을 공식 선언하고 1년여 간 교제해왔다. 결별 소식은 7일 현빈이 해병대에 입대한 직후 알려졌다.
