President Lee Keun-po and Hanwha E&C’s partners discuss issues at a Shared Growth Day meeting at a construction site at the Nakdong River.

The president of Hanwha Engineering & Construction, Lee Keun-po, visited a construction site at the Nakdong River in Gumi, North Gyeongsang, on July 5 to hold a meeting. This event was held as part of the company’s effort to find the true meaning of “shared growth” by visiting and checking the site personally and not only through paperwork. Hanwha has been sending executives to construction sites to hear the difficulties of its partner companies on Shared Growth Day, held quarterly since last year.

Present at the recent meeting were about 10 representatives of Hanwha’s partners in the North Gyeongsang region, offering them a chance to talk frankly with Lee about any difficulties and suggestions for the project. All of the proposals made during the meeting will be considered, and, if further support is needed, it will be dealt through the Shared Growth Committee.

Other than Shared Growth Day, Hanwha has been hosting similar meetings with its partners with outstanding performance since 2002. The company shares and follows models of its partner companies to promote further advancement of shared growth between Hanwha and its partner companies. The company also guarantees several incentives, such as private contracts, for their partners with the best performances to allow them to develop further.

Lee emphasized that construction sites are the best places to hear of any practical hardships and find solutions for shared growth. He added that when the construction capacity of its partner companies improves, it helps Hanwha’s capacity to grow as well, and that the company will continue supporting and promoting its partners.

Because of many problems faced by its partners are financial in nature, Hanwha came up with the Shared Growth Fund, which gives partner companies a discount on interest rates for loans. Additionally, Hanwha runs a network in which its partners can access emergency funds in times of urgent need.

Hanwha Engineering & Construction will remain committed to holding Shared Growth Day to communicate more with its partners and foster a win-win relationship by providing various ways to support them.
