[Sponsored Report] Getting educated the German way in Busan

Germany’s Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) Busan campus held a recruiting presentation at the Busan German Culture Center on October 21 to recruit master’s degree students for the 2012 spring semester.

The FAU Busan campus opened in March this year and within the chemical and bioengineering department there are six majors: Bioprocess Engineering, Chemical Reaction Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Separation Science & Technology, Environmental Process Engineering and Mechanical Process Engineering and plans to recruit more than 25 students to the master’s degree program.

At this explanation session the FAU Busan campus professors held a presentation and campus tour in addition to having individual counseling sessions with students who were interested. To those who participated in the recruiting session and visited the open campus, a small souvenir was presented and a German meal was served. The FAU Busan Campus is providing full scholarships for the first semester from the Korean or German scholarship foundation for Korean students. Outstanding students can receive an additional allowance for research participation.

FAU Busan campus is the first foreign educational institute to be founded in the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone and the school has the same curriculum as the main campus in Germany. All of the lectures are in English and the students will receive the same degree as in Germany. Applications can be downloaded from the school web site (www.fau-busan.ac.kr).
