Leeteuk worried about ticket prices

Leeteuk of the boy band Super Junior has expressed his discontent about the high price of tickets for K-pop concerts overseas.

At a press conference following the 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards on Nov. 29, Leeteuk said, “The Korean Wave is blowing and this has led to lots of K-pop concerts around the world. When I see how much tickets for K-pop shows overseas cost, the prices are too expensive. I think this may keep K-pop from spreading.”

The leader of the popular group said he was worried about the profit-driven direction of these concerts and said he hoped the prices wouldn’t deter foreign fans.

Leeteuk’s band Super Junior was awarded with the album of the year, male group of the year and Singapore’s choice awards at the Mnet awards.

His busy schedule has also led him to leave the “Super Junior’s Kiss the Radio” show, which he used to host with fellow band member Eunhyuk.

Fellow band mates Sungmin and Ryeowook will continue on with the show instead.
