Super Junior overtakes Britney Spears on Twitter

Idol band Super Junior has ranked fourth on a list of the top 10 trending musical artists for the year on Twitter.

On Dec. 7, the Mashable Web site listed the most-talked-about keywords on Twitter according to research conducted by a HootSuite company. More than 207,518 hash tags were identified and analyzed for the research, which revealed the Korean boy band as the fourth most searched among musical artists, overtaking Britney Spears. Ahead of Super Junior were Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and the Jonas Brothers.

On the comprehensive top 10 list of all trending topics on Twitter, Super Junior ranked seventh, falling just behind Christmas, the holiday.

Super Junior members are avid Twitter users, and individual members maintain their own accounts.
