Evanescence to perform in Korea

Rock band Evanescence will hold their very first concert in Korea in February.
The production company behind the event, Ally & Co., revealed on Dec. 27 that the band will perform at Ax-Korea in Gwangjang-dong, eastern Seoul, on Feb. 17.

The band released the new single “What You Want” in October, as well as a self-titled album, breaking a dry spell of five years since the release of its previous album.

The five-member group found worldwide fame after the success of its first album “Fallen” in 2003. In the U.S. alone, the group’s debut record sold over eight million copies, and in 2004, the group was awarded the Grammy for Best Rock Performance and Best Newcomer. Since then, the rock band has enjoyed continuous fame.

At the band’s premiere Korean concert, there will also be a special guest performance by the 1990s alternative rock band Bush.

Bush is well known by fans of rock music, and although of British origin, the band is popular in the U.S. The band was officially defunct in 2003 but made a comeback last year and released the album “The Sea of Memories.” The vocalist of the group, Gavin Rossdale, is also the husband of Gwen Stefani from alternative rock band No Doubt.
