Singer John Park to release debut album in January

John Park revealed that he will soon release a debut album in an announcement made while he was performing at a concert alongside his friend and mentor Kim Dong-ryul.

“I’ve learnt so much from Kim in the last few months. I’m also currently wrapping up production of my debut album, which is due to be released in a month,” Park said to audience members while on stage.

The two singers belong to the same agency, Music Farm, and have become close since Park signed with the agency in March. The 24-year-old contestant came in second place on the singing survival show “Super Star K 2,” losing to Huh Gak. Park said he signed up with the agency due to his admiration of singer Kim and his genre of ballad music.

This album will be the first for Park, who joined Music Farm 10 months ago. Previously, the Korean-American singer contributed to the soundtrack of the movie “Glove” and released a single titled “I’m Your Man.”

Kim’s Christmas-themed concert ran from Dec. 24 to Dec. 26 at Kyunghee University in Seoul. Kim and Park sang various songs together, including the ever-popular ballad “Kissing a Fool.”
