Japanese actor Otani Ryohei will make an appearance on an episode of the soap opera “Boki” on KBS 2. The star’s agency said on Jan. 11 that the actor will play the role of a Korean-Japanese character who creates conflict between the two main characters, played by actress Kim Yoo-ri and actor Choi Woo-suk.

This isn’t the first time that the popular Japanese actor had starred in a program alongside Kim. The two appeared in the series “The Road Home” in 2009.

“Despite his busy schedule, Ryohei decided to appear in the show as he is good friends with the show’s writer. When the author asked Ryohei to participate, he said he’d gladly help out,” a representative from the entertainer’s agency said. The writer and the actor met and worked together on the set of “The Road Home.”

Currently, the Japanese model-turned-actor is in production for the drama “Hero” that will be broadcast on the OCN channel. The show is set to air in March and also features singer and actor Yang Dong-geun and actress Han Chae-ah as part of the cast. The Japanese entertainer made his debut in Korea in 2003 on TV commercials for Dunkin’ Donuts, Hyundai Motor, Olympus and SK Telecom.
