‘I Am a Singer’ goes on the prowl

From Feb. 17th, the “I Am a Singer” national concert tour will open and travel to various regions around the nation for four months.
MBC confirmed on Jan. 17 that the concert, named after the hit singing survival show on its network, will feature artists Insooni, Jaurim, BMK, Tei, Shin Hyo-bum, JK Kim Dong-wook, Jo Kyu-chan, Park Wan-gyu and Jang Hye-jin.
The artists on the bill are all contestants from the hit show.

“The singers are the top performers from the show and through the shows, audiences can expect to see their passionate and raw performances,” said a representative from MBC.

After performances in Seoul from Feb. 17 to 18, the concert will take to venues in Daegu, Suwon, Busan, Daejeon, Incheon, Jeonju, Ilsan, Ulsan and Pohang.
The concert is expected to wrap-up around late May.
Of late the hit MBC show had made headlines due to copyright issues with singer Kang Saneh, who said that he never gave the show permission to sell his re-made songs online.
The musicians that covered Kang’s songs included the singer Tei and the bands Jaurim and YB. Although the songs sung by Jaurim and YB were available for download until recently, the tracks were removed from online music portals following Kang’s complaints.
