Samsung SDS is breaking away from the stagnant local market and is targeting the overseas one, progressing into a global company.

As part of this, Samsung SDS has changed its business constitution and has also completed its reorganization to penetrate overseas. In addition, the company already has a pool of global ly leading talents and is working to achieve global competitiveness.

Samsung SDS has been accumulating its business capability in SIE (Smart Infrastructure Engineering) and DSC (Digital Space Convergence) and at the same time focusing on these two businesses as its driving force to penetrate the overseas market.

The DSC business in particular has shown remarkable results in Samsung SDS. Recently it has succeeded in receiving orders for installing the DSC for the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture, being built by the oil company Aramco in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.

In addition, the company also succeeded in winning the order for the library construction project at the University of Birmingham, one of England’s most prestigious universities.

The DSC business should become a 30 trillion won market by 2015. This business is a “convergence style IT business model” where ICT technology and design sensitivity meet at a physical place, applying design and cutting-edge IT such as digital appliances, wireless networks and software. DSC is most useful for libraries, exhibition halls, museums and shopping malls.

Furthermore, based on the successful establishment of local electronic government business, Samsung SDS has also successfully set up public procurement systems overseas in Vietnam, Mongolia and Costa Rica with the cooperation of private businesses and governments. The company is currently conducting the Tunisian electronic public procurement system pilot project, initiated at the behest of the Tunisian government to get rid of corruption and to revive the economy.

In addition, Samsung SDS has also secured the solutions and platforms for railroad AFC (Automatic Fare Collection), ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) and smart buildings.
