Nana of the girl group After School will make a cameo in the film “Fashion King,” playing a character described as a “queen bee.”
Yesterday, her agency, Pledis Entertainment, told local media that Nana, whose real name is Lim Jin-ah, will have a role in the teen movie, joining a cast that includes the actor Joo Won and singer Sulli from the K-pop girl group f(x).
“Nana hopes to show off her acting potential in ‘Fashion King,’” said a Pledis official.
“Fashion King” has been hotly anticipated by the Korean entertainment industry because it is the big-screen adaptation of the successful webtoon series by Kian84, aka Kim Hee-min.
The film will be directed by Oh Gi-hwan, who directed a segment of the 2009 omnibus film “Five Senses of Eros.”
In “Fashion King,” Joo Won will play the main character, Woo Gi-myung, who tries to change his fashion style to win the heart of the girl he has a crush on, Hye-jin, played by actress Park Se-young. Sulli plays Eun-jin, a girl who falls for Gi-myung.
“Fashion King” is due to hit theaters in the latter half of the year.
