Senior film festival in search of submissions

The seventh Seoul Senior Film Festival is searching for submissions from June 9 to screen at the festival running from Sept. 24 to 27.

The event aims to provide a new platform for seniors and younger generations to engage in.

The festival has two competitive fields. Those over 60 can submit movies on any topic to the senior section while younger filmmakers can submit works about the senior generation, senior culture and generation integration to the youth segment. Any submission under 40 minutes will be accepted regardless of genre.

Submissions can be made until July 8, through mail or by direct submission.

The festival is also looking for an actress over 60 for the festival’s official trailer through June 16 to 27. Open auditions for the lead role will start from July 3.

“We hope to give a chance for senior citizens to become the main character in the trailer and ignite a new energy in the senior life,” said the festival secretariat.

To apply, send a self-introduction, a smiling head shot and a full body shot to parisryu@naver.com.
