JYJ embarks on Asia tour

Boy group JYJ embarked on its latest Asian tour starting with a Saturday night concert in Seoul.

The group’s three members were at Jamsil Sports Complex in Songpa, southern Seoul, to kick off their “The Return of the King” tour to eight cities including Beijing and Shanghai in China and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.

For about two and a half hours, the group performed songs for about 30,000 fans including “Be the One” and “Let Me See.”

Each member did solo performances for fans who wanted to give each some undivided attention.

“It feels so good to perform for the first time in a long time and meet with you,” said Park Yoo-chun in the middle of the concert.

“Thank you so much for not forgetting about us and coming here.”

The group had not performed a concert in Seoul since November 2010.

The three members, who made their debut a decade ago, released their second full-length album “Just Us” last month, which came about three years after “In Heaven.” The three debuted as part of boy group TVXQ, but left after a management dispute with SM Entertainment. They formed JYJ in 2010 and released “The Beginning.”

“We know that many of you have cheered for us, cried for us even, when we couldn’t see you for the last 10 years, which is not at all a short time period,” said the group in a video message it played during the concert.

“The future we are going to make will be much happier than the time we have spent together.”
