The Winter’s Tale

Label: Universal Music

Genre: Ballad, Dance

As the festive season is upon us, the boy group BTOB has returned with elaborate mini-album “The Winter’s Tale.”

Over the course of five tracks, the members enchant listeners with various styles of carols, versatile ballads and dance music, which are typical of the group’s storytelling style.

The seasonal story unfolds with lead-off song “You Can Cry,” which is about feeling loneliness during Christmas, and is set against a jaunty tune.

“You Cannot Cry,” on the other hand, is about yearning for a distant relationship on a winter’s day.

“One Sip” is the only ballad on the record, while “Because it’s Christmas” and “Drink It!” fascinate listeners with their catchy, vivacious melodies.

The six obstinately cling to the group’s original musical style up to the point where it could sound banal.

However, fans will still feel that the band is heading in the right direction with their reassuring sounds being exactly what the public was expecting.
