Air Busan inaugurates three weekly flights to to Yanji

Air Busan on Wednesday announced the launch of a flight from Busan to Yanji, China, the first Korean carrier to do so.

The low-cost carrier, an affiliate of Korea’s No. 2 air carrier, Asiana Airlines, said it will use a 162-seat Airbus A320-200 and will fly on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The flight to Yanji is about two hours, 50 minutes, the LCC said. Air Busan hopes that many Koreans will visit Yanji, which is close to Mount Baekdu and has historical sites for tourists. The company last year operated a chartered flight to the region.

Air Busan also said that it has plans to launch flights to Zhangjiajie, China, and Da Nang, Vietnam in April.
