Compassionate technology changes the world

The first ceremonial kick of the 2014 Brazil World Cup was by a paralyzed young man. Thanks to the robotic body suit that detects a signal from the brain and uses an AI censor, the unbelievable achievement was made possible.

The advancement of science and technology improves the inconveniences of life and makes human lives easier and fuller.

However, some products that use advanced technology have low marketability, and companies have hard time pushing for research and development and commercialize their technologies. Therefore, the government needs to initiate development of the “kind technologies” and consistently encourage creation of the market by proving the commercial potential. Especially the products using kind technologies are suitable for small batch production, and it is more advantageous to be produced by small and medium-sized companies rather than big conglomerates.

At the 2015 Kind Technology Achievement Presentation on March 20, the smart road lights that detect cars in the rain or at night and make the streets brighter, and the movable shower head that helps handicapped people wash their hair using a small amount of water without using shampoo, were exhibited and garnered the attention of many participants.

The most important engine for growth in the creative economy is the people. When the government supports the commercialization of technology that combines humanity and sentiment and encourages small and mid-sized businesses develop competitive products, new added value for safety of the citizens will be created along with consideration and care for the disadvantaged of the society. Let’s hope that people and companies with kind hearts will pay more attention to the creative ideas using kind technology.
