Rising star Lee Kwang-soo’s commercial for Nestle’s Fruitips was honored with the “2015 Season One Best Commercial Award” from Hong Kong’s YouTube Ads Leaderboard, which is operated by Google.

The prize was given to the 29-year-old because his ad achieved the highest number of viewers on the platform compared to other commercials.

The video received more than two million hits between January, when it was released, and April.

The figure is much higher than the ad that came second with 700,000 hits.

Lee is the first Asian model selected to represent Hong Kong’s Nestle Fruitips, a fact that brought about much attention at the time of his appointment.

“The advertisement garnered many people’s attention because Lee, who is enjoying a great following in various Asian countries, starred in the video,” said a person affiliated with Fruitips.

Lee originally debuted as a model in 2007. He soon made an acting debut in 2008 through “Here He Comes,” (2008-9) followed by “High Kick through the Roof” (2009-10). He gained popularity after appearing in the reality program “Running Man” (2010-present). Lee is scheduled to star in the upcoming film “The Mutant” (2015).
