Lee Da-hey mulling new role

Actress Lee Da-hey is positively considering taking a lead role in a new joint Korean-Chinese drama series called “The Couple of the Century” (working title), according to Korean news agency News1 on Thursday afternoon.

Lee’s talent agency, FNC Entertainment, said, “Lee has looked over the new drama’s screenplay and she is positively thinking of taking part in it.”

According to the Chinese production company, the shooting for the drama will take place from August to October and the series will debut in China in November.

In the romantic comedy series, Lee would play the role of a top actress who gets to have everything she wants. One day, however, she is forced to marry an actor who she doesn’t love in order to obey her father’s will, which demands that she tie the knot within three months.

What makes the actress’s marriage more devastating is that she and her husband have disliked each other ever since they first met through a variety program when they were only rookie actors.

However, the plot gets more interesting, as the couple gradually starts to fall in love in a heartwarming turn of events.

The upcoming series is being highly anticipated since it is the first TV production project of China’s e-commerce company Alibaba.

Lee rose to fame in China with her drama series “My Girl” in 2005.

Thanks to her popularity in the neighboring country, she received the Best Actress in a TV Drama Award in China for her role in “Love Actually” (2012), which was the Chinese version of the popular Korean drama “Dae Jang Geum” (2003).
