Actor to remain on show after assault
Veteran actor Choi Min-soo will continue his participation in the KBS 2TV reality program “A Look at Myself,” despite the controversy he caused for assaulting the program’s producer.
According to a person involved with the variety show, “Choi made up with the producer he assaulted, so the actor is not expected to step down from the show for now.”
The production crew released a statement on Thursday that explains that Choi made the first move and sincerely apologized.
The report also added that “since the [conflict] occurred due to the two men’s over-enthusiasm towards the variety program, they talked over what happened and regained their faith in each other.”
While shooting for “A Look at Myself” at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Choi reportedly expressed frustration toward the producer, which eventually led to the assault.
According to a person involved with the incident, Choi punched the producer in the chin. The situation, however, cooled off after surrounding staff members stopped the fight. The producer went to the hospital for a check-up but apparently did not sustain any major injuries.
