Oct 29,2015
Ssangyong Motor, which specializes in SUVs, tested a driverless car Wednesday at the Korea Automotive Technology Institute testing ground in Cheonan, South Chungcheong.

The Korean automaker and the automotive institute has been working on the vehicle since June of last year.

According to the company, the Korando C driverless car succeeded in all its tests including changing speed, driving on curved roads and avoiding obstacles.

The automaker also held a test drive event for its Tivoli electric vehicle-range extender that the company is planning to put into mass production before 2019.

The Tivoli EVR can travel a maximum of 400 kilometers at a maximum speed of 150 kilometer per hour. On EV mode alone it can travel as far as 125 kilometers. The vehicle is equipped with a 25 kilowatt hour lithium polymer battery.
