MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALLRyu, Kang both appear to be healing up from injuries
Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Ryu Hyun-jin has wrapped up his third bullpen pitching session on Sunday after recovering from a pulled groin.
According to MLB.com, Ryu threw 40 balls on Sunday including changeups and curveballs.
Ryu was doing well in his rehabilitation from his shoulder surgery, throwing bullpen pitching and live pitching sessions before going to the minors for the final step in his recovery. But the muscle pain on his groin slowed down his recuperation and Ryu had to take a step back. But back on course, Ryu is expected to appear in a big-league game by June, given that nothing major goes wrong along the way.
While Ryu is getting closer to retaking the mound, Kang Jung-ho of the Pittsburgh Pirates is also progressing in his rehabilitation. In the minors game against the Baltimore Orioles’ minors team Norfolk, Kang went 1-for-4. Since April 19, Kang has played in 10 rehab games in the minor league.

Thiem passes Djokovic for most wins on tour this year
MUNICH - Dominic Thiem of Austria surpassed Novak Djokovic for most wins on tour this year as he reached the BMW Open final by defeating Alexander Zverev of Germany 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 on Saturday.
Thiem’s 29th ATP singles win gives him a chance on Sunday to add to titles he won in February in Buenos Aires and Acapulco.
He converted five of his 11 break opportunities, lost his own serve three times, but finished off Zverev in two hours with his sixth ace.
In the clay-court final he will play two-time champion Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany, who had little difficulty in defeating fifth-seeded Fabio Fognini of Italy 6-1, 6-4.
