Chadwick International graduates its first seniors
Chadwick International School in Songdo, Incheon, produced its first graduates on May 28. The 68 students celebrated their graduation in the Main Theater of the school that day.The students, following the long-standing tradition of its sister school, the U.S.-based Chadwick School, went through the so-called graduation door, which is 60 to 70 centimeters (24 to 28 inches) in height.
“These students first enrolled in 7th grade, the highest grade, when Chadwick International School first opened,” said Shelly Wille, the school’s principal. “The students played the role of the school’s leader as they built almost everything about the school from the ground up, including the student council, clubs and volunteer activities. I hope the students keep that pioneering spirit and become global leaders.”
Many of the graduates have been accepted to prominent universities, including Yonsei and Ewha Womans University in Korea and Dartmouth, Cornell, Johns Hopkins University and the University of Pennsylvania in the United States, according to the school.
The school announced that about 80 percent of the students who applied to top 50 liberal arts colleges and universities in the United States received letters of acceptance. Also, 86 percent of the 50 students who applied to the world’s top 100 universities, as ranked by Times Higher Education, have been accepted.
