[CARD NEWS] In remembrance of the three victims of the Lynx chopper

On Sept. 27th, at 6 p.m., I heard that the body of my son was found.
Picture) On Sept. 27th, at around 6 p.m., the Navy found the body of a missing passenger from the Lynx chopper, 1030 meters under the sea during its search operation that used a remotely operated underwater vehicle.
2) On the night of Sept. 26th, my son participated a naval military drill and piloted the Lynx helicopter. 21 hours later, he was found dead.

Few hours later the funeral was set, I stumbled upon a report that the bolts used for the chopper were possibly faulty, which was painful to hear. I came up with the idea that it might be a man-made disaster.

On the following day, I demanded an explanation to the Chief of Navy Operations.
He answered he understood.

In 2005, he commissioned as a military officer of the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. Then he became a pilot in 2010 after applying for a naval cadet.
6) My son who achieved his dream is not here with me anymore.
We must thoroughly establish the cause of the accident.

7) On Oct. 2nd, on the last day of the funeral, I bade my son a sorrowing farewell.
8) As a matter to respect my son’s willing to protect our nation, I will donate a part of compensation granted by the government to a scholarship foundation for the bereaved family of navy.

Nevertheless, the authority did not take any measure against the companies in corruptions.
14) On Oct. 1st, the Navy salvaged the chopper the victims were aboard. They are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
15) It is unclear yet whether the incident is concerned with the corruptions of the defense industry. However, one thing is clear that nobody should joke around with the military arms anymore, as the lives of the soldiers depend on it.
16) We pray for the reposes of Lieutenants Kim kyung-min, Park yoo-shin, and officer Hwang sung-chul, those who passed away during the late-night military drill.
