KCC I&C started in 1967 as the Korea Computer Center, an affiliate of the Korea Productivity Center. It was the country’s first IT company, and the aim was to sell computers and develop software.

For 50 years, the company has been a leading IT service provider, forming diverse partnerships with other tech, broadcasting and telecommunication companies in Korea and around the world with the aim of building a “digitopia” where people can live happily.

Standing at the forefront of digitizing almost all of the country’s industries, including national defense, finance, communications and media, KCC has gained a wide range of knowledge and manpower to lead the future information communications industry.

When KCC first introduced computers to Korea, it opened up the country to a whole new world of technology. Specifically, the company contributed to the computerization of identification cards, developed an electronic ticket reservation system for the Korean railroad operator, built a search system for families separated by the Korean War and localized shipbuilding design.

KCC’s first project with Korail, the national rail operator, was computerizing the rail company’s freight screening system. In 1981, KCC built Korail’s first electronic ticketing system for the Gyeongbu line. Thanks to further development, the system has become ubiquitous, and anyone with a smartphone can buy rail tickets anytime, anywhere.

In addition to technological industries, KCC Auto Group is engaged in car imports, selling seven foreign brands including Honda, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Range Rover, Porsche, Infiniti and Nissan in the Korean market. It has dealership locations around the country, not just in the Seoul metropolitan area but also far-flung places like Wonju, Daejeon, Daegu and Jeju.

KCC Auto Group is flourishing as the best motor vehicle service provider based on its relationship of trust with consumers. The group aims to become lifestyle partners with buyers by contemplating not just how to sell more cars but also what kind of services consumers need.

Marking its 50th anniversary, KCC recently renewed its business values in order to maximize the company’s capacity to stand out as a global enterprise; solidify its vision and raison d’être; and maintain balance between rapidly changing paradigms and the company’s original mission.

Through this process, KCC has determined that its five main values are represented by the word “HAPPY;” that is human, accompany, passion, promise and yield.
