[VIDEO NEWS] President Moon briefs press about his second summit with Kim Jong-un

테스트

1) “Dear people of Korea. Yesterday (Saturday) afternoon, I had a second inter-Korean summit with Chairman Kim Jong-un at Tongilgak, on the northern side of Panmunjom.”

2) “It has been exactly a month since our summit at the Peace House in Panmunjom on April 27.”

3) “In the last summit, we, as leaders of the two Koreas, have agreed to meet whenever it is necessary to discuss important matters of our people together.”

4) “Chairman Kim suggested to meet without any complications of formality the day before yesterday (Friday), and I gladly accepted the proposal.”

5) “I have long emphasized the importance of regular meetings and direct communication between the leaders of North and South Korea in order to overcome our differences and conflict, and my will was made clear in the Panmunjom Declaration.”

6) “Which is why I would like to consider this summit, which happened as if we were friends having daily conversation, as important as the historic summit at Panmunjom we had in April. It is my position that the leaders of the two Koreas should meet like this.”

7) “Facing the North-U.S. summit, Chairman Kim and I had a frank conversation.”

8) “I explained to Chairman Kim that President Trump made it clear to me during our summit [in Washington last Tuesday] not only would he end the confrontational relation with the North should it choose denuclearization, but the United States was willing to help it achieve economic prosperity.”

9) “I emphasized the need for each side to talk to each other through a direct communication channel to put at ease misunderstandings, and that plenty of advance talks would be necessary through working-level negotiations to select agenda topics to be discussed at the summit meeting, to which Chairman Kim agreed.”

10) “North Korean leader Kim once again made it clear yesterday that he was determined to carry out complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, and expressed his stance that he will cooperate [with the South] to put an end to the history of confrontation and war on a path toward peace and prosperity through having a successful North-U.S. summit.”

11) “We have agreed that the North-U.S. summit in June must become a success and that the journey towards the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and a permanent peace regime settlement must not grind to a halt. And to that end, we agree to continue close cooperation.”

12) “We have also re-established that the Panmunjom Declaration must be followed through swiftly.”

13) “In order to do that, we have agreed to hold senior-level talks Friday. Military talks to ease tensions and a Red Cross meeting to discuss the holding of reunions of separated families will follow.”

14) “We believe that the informal and prompt manner with which this summit happened at a time of need is meaningful. We agreed to communicate with each other at any time through talking over the phone and meeting in person whenever it is deemed necessary.”

15) “Dear people of Korea. Looking back, we have always lived in fear. The anxiety and fear over national security have been penetrating through our foreign relations, economy and even our daily lives. This fear was also the biggest hindrance shackling our politics.”

16) “However, now we are changing the flow of history. We have made the PyeongChang Winter Olympics the Peace Olympics. We are now paving a new path toward peace and prosperity from Panmunjom, the long-running symbol of tension and confrontation.”

17) “North Korea demonstrated their determination by voluntarily suspending nuclear tests and missile launches and shutting down the Punggye-ri nuclear testing site.”

18) “Just as climbing the mountain gets harder when the sight of a summit is within view, the path towards complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and complete peace will not be an easy one.”

19) “But as president, I will take that path and will make it to the end with all the duty and power entrusted by the people. I hope the Korean people will join this journey. Thank you.”
