[Sponsored Report] Hyundai Steel’s union helps local children
On May 23, 13 members of the union took children from a welfare center in Songna-myeon on an outing to an aquarium in Daegu. Songna-myeon, administratively a part of Pohang, is an isolated and remote area with little access to cultural facilities. The labor union hopes to offer the children some new experiences.
As part of the program, the volunteers visited Alive Aquarium in Daegu with the children and spent an enjoyable day learning about the marine life on display.
“It is great to be given opportunities to go on field trips with the support of Hyundai Steel’s labor union,” said Oh Jin-tae, head of the welfare center. “We hope the children can enjoy the activities.”
The Pohang branch of the labor union isn’t the only one active in the local community. On May 14, the Suncheon branch, from South Jeolla, volunteered to improve the safety of homes of elderly residents by improving and installing rails and ramps to make homes more accessible.
