Agency says Shaun did not fix music charts

Shaun, a member of rock band The KOXX, and his talent agency Dctom Entertainment announced on Tuesday the results of their investigation into allegations made that the singer had manipulated streams of his song in order to perform well on streaming charts.

In response to the allegations, the agency announced, “After carefully analyzing the files from ‘Music Only Introduced to You,’ it has been proven that Shaun’s song has been steadily climbing the charts for 20 days. After he entered the Top 100 chart, it can be predicted that he steadily rose to fame because users took interest in his song because it is different from most of the songs in the Top 100 chart.”

The agency recognized that its investigation may look suspicious, but they emphasized that “we tried to stay as objective as possible.”

The singer’s recent hit “Way Back Home” was released on June 27 and remains at the top of the charts on streaming services such as Melon, Genie and Olleh Music, even outperforming the latest single from popular girl group Red Velvet.

Fans grew suspicious of the song’s popularity and accused Shaun of using a popular music recommendation Facebook page, “Music Only Introduced to You,” to place high on the charts.
