YG searches for new band

YG Entertainment is launching its own competition series to create a new boy band.

“Our major boy bands Big Bang, iKON and Winner have all been selected by our previous idol competition programs,” the agency said through a press release on Monday. “The upcoming show is an addition to our previous programs.”

The new program “YG Treasure Box” (working title) will air starting from Nov. 16 through various online platforms, including YouTube and V-Live, and it will feature all existing 29 male YG trainees.

Unlike other audition programs such as the “Superstar K” series or YG’s previous survival show “Mixnine,” judges will not appear in the show.

The viewers will also be voting for the finalists.
