Park Jung-ho

SK Telecom CEO Park Jung-ho has been reappointed to the board of the Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), which represents interests of more than 750 mobile operators in 220 countries.

GSMA chooses board members every two years based on mobile carriers’ earnings as well as technological contributions to the mobile industry, SK Telecom said. There are 26 board members including its chair.

SK Telecom has been a part of the board since 2009. The carrier said the reappointment was likely due to its progress in commercializing the next-generation 5G network.

KT Chairman Hwang Chang-gyu left the board.
