1) On Nov. 30, a train preparing for the joint survey of North Korean train tracks arrived at Dorasan station, the northern-most stop of the Gyeongui line in South Korea that connects to the North.

2) The South and North are carrying out a joint survey for 18 days on North Korean train tracks.

3) The South Korean survey team comprises Minister of Unification Cho Myoung-gyon; floor leader of the Party for Democracy and Peace Chung Dong-young; Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kim Hyun-mee; and head of the National Assembly’s Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee Park Sun-ja.

5) The government is going to use data from this survey to help in the process of connecting the tracks between the two countries and modernizing North Korean train tracks.
