LG U+ to offer phone bills in video form for new users

LG U+ will offer phone bills in video form, the company said Tuesday.

The videos, however, won’t be offered to every LG U+ customer. New LG U+ subscribers or existing customers who have changed their phone plan will get their first phone bill after the change as a video.

According to the mobile carrier, 30 percent of customer inquiries to its call centers are simple questions related to changes in phone bills after customers received their first phone bill after a change in the terms of their contract.

The video will thoroughly explain one-off charges in the first month after a subscription starts. These charges, addressed in roughly two minutes, include USIM fees, discount benefits, various payment options and more. Customers will receive a URL with a link to the video via SMS. For the older users, aged 60 or older, the carrier said the video will run slower, at about 80 percent of the full speed.

LG U+ expects the videos to eliminate about 1,000 calls per day for its service centers.
