위기를 맞은 히틀러와 나치 잔당들은 숨겨둔 비밀 로켓을 타고 우주로 향합니다. 도착한 곳은 달의 뒤편. 그들은 비밀기지를 차리고 다시 지구정복을 준비한다는 다소 좀 황당한 이야기… 영화로도 만들어진 이 스토리는 히틀러의 죽음을 믿지 않았던 사람들의 상상력이 만들어낸 음모론이었습니다.

The movie “Iron Sky” tells the story of Adolf Hitler and group of Nazis who flee to outer space after their defeat in 1945. Their destination is the back side of the moon. The movie depicts Hitler and his followers set up a secret base there and start to come up with a plan to conquer Earth again. The storyline is somewhat preposterous. This movie was based on the imagination of a few people who concocted a conspiracy theory that Hitler was not really dead.

달의 뒤편… 볼 수 없고, 갈 수 없는 곳이기에 인류는 한없는 궁금증을 품었지요. 'The dark side of the moon' 핑크 플로이드는 1973년에 발매한 이 음반을 통해서 현대사회가 감춰둔 혼돈과 어두움을 드러내기도 했습니다. 존재하고 있으나 가려져 있었던 세상. 한 사람의 용기에서 비롯되어, 조금씩 윤곽을 드러낸 그곳 또한 마찬가지였습니다.

The back side of the moon is a place that has long eluded mankind, making it all the more mysterious. 'The Dark Side of the Moon' is the name of Pink Floyd’s album that was released in 1973. The album focuses on the hidden chaos in our society. This chaos does exist, but is shielded away. However, light now shines in this darkness thanks to one person’s courage.

"이 세상에 얼마나 많은 열일곱 살의 유용이가 있을지… 참담한 심정으로 고소장을 제출합니다" 자신의 이름을 밝히고 아예 자신의 이름을 딴 사건으로 불러 달라고 요구한 또 다른 피해자… 그는 단 하루도 고통 없이 시간이 흐른 적이 없었다고 말합니다. 보름달처럼 빛나는 메달의 뒤편에 가려진 복잡한 억압의 사슬은 견고해서 동료들조차 자신의 생존을 위해서 증언을 꺼려왔다 하니… 독재자는 여전히 달에 뒤편에 살고 있었습니다.

“I can only wonder how many 17-year-old Shin Yu-yong’s live in our society… I turn in this official complaint because of this tragic emotion I feel.” Another victim has come forth, this time openly asking the public to call this case by her name… Shin told everyone that a day didn’t go by in which she didn’t suffer from the brutality of her past. The complicated chains that held her on the back side of the moon were too tight and strong, hindering even her colleagues to testify for her benefit. It seems like dictators do live on the back side of the moon.

한편… 얼마 전 중국 쓰촨성에서 발사된 창어 4호가 보내온 달의 뒷모습. 그동안 인류가 달의 뒷면을 탐사하지 못했던 이유는 다름 아닌 통신의 문제였죠. 즉 지구와의 교신이 끊기기 때문이었습니다. 이를 이어줄 통신중계위성을 쏘아 올린 인류는 이제야 비로소 달 이면과의 교신을 시작했고 달은 감춰놓았던 그 뒷모습을 비로소 내어놓았습니다. 그리고… 거대한 벽 뒤에 갇혀 숨죽인 피해자들 역시 하나 둘 세상과 교신을 시작한 것이죠.

Meanwhile… A picture of the back side of the moon was taken by the Change-4 lunar probe, which was launched in Sichuan Province, China, and sent back to the Earth. It turns out that the reason why mankind was not able to explore the other side of the moon was because of a communication problem. In other words, the signals sent from the Earth were lost in space. To solve this problem, a communication satellite was launched, thus allowing mankind to finally see the other side of the moon for themselves. All the while, the victims hidden there are starting to communicate with the world.
