BMW recirculation valve recall 94 percent complete
On Tuesday, BMW Korea said it has recalled 94 percent of vehicles with problems related to exhaust gas recirculation valves.The Korean unit of the German automaker said it completed the recall of 100,090 of a total 106,000 vehicles as of 12:00 a.m. Tuesday. The recall started five months ago.
BMW Korea said it is actively contacting owners who have not yet turned in their vehicles.
As for the automaker’s secondary recall, which began on Nov. 26, the company said it completed recall action on 32,679, or over 50 percent, of the vehicles as of 12:00 a.m. Tuesday.
The German automaker was mired in controversy last year after reports of its vehicles catching fire. The accidents led to the mass recall.
