YG artists break 100 million views

YG Entertainment artists are celebrating after hitting multiple milestones this week. The choreography video for singer Jennie’s single “SOLO” (2018) surpassed 100 million views Monday evening. Just a few hours later, on Tuesday afternoon, the choreography video for boy band Big Bang’s “Bang Bang Bang” (2015) also surpassed the 100-million mark, calling for celebration for YG Entertainment.

Jennie was the first of the four-member act Blackpink to release a solo single.

“The music video for Jennie’s ‘SOLO’ surpassed 20 million views within just 90 days after its release, the fastest for a solo female singer in Korea,” said YG Entertainment.

Ten other music videos by Blackpink also have over 100 million views, including their 2018 hit “Ddu-du Ddu-du,” which now has almost 600 million views.

The 100-million-view milestone came as a pleasant surprise for Big Bang, as most of the group - except for Seungri - are currently serving in the army, fulfilling their mandatory two-year service period.

With the addition of the “Bang Bang Bang” choreography video, the group now has 16 music videos that have reached 100 million views, including “Fantastic Baby” (2012) and “Bae Bae” (2015).

“It’s hard enough to have standard music videos seen over 100 million times, but seeing the success of Jennie and Big Bang’s choreography videos proves their continuing popularity,” said YG Entertainment.
