‘Swing Kids’ plays in Switzerland

Director Kim Hyoung-chul’s dance film “Swing Kids,” which was invited to compete at the Feature Films section in the Fribourg International Film Festival held in Switzerland, was screened for the first time at the festival on Sunday.

According to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Swiss Confederation on Monday afternoon, around 400 people in total have attended the screening of the film. Director Kim was also there to answer questions about the film.

The film, which was released last December, revolves around a North Korean soldier named Ro Gi-soo (Do Kyung-soo) who joins U.S. Broadway performer Jackson’s (Jared Grimes) dance group, made up of prisoners of war, in order to pursue his dreams.

The film festival kicked off last Friday and will run through Sunday and wrap up by announcing the final winners.
