영무자. 풀어서 쓰면 '그림자 무사'라는 의미의 가게무샤는 일본 전국시대에 성행한 위장 전술입니다. 주군을 보호하기 위해 닮은 사람을 대신 앞에 내세워서 위험을 피한다는 것이지요.
Kagemusha in Japanese, translates to “shadow warrior,” a camouflage strategy that was prevalent in the Warring States Period in Japan from 1467 to 1573. In order to protect their lord, people would replace him with a look-alike in his place in order to keep him or her safe.

히틀러가 전쟁 말기에 자신의 대역을 앞세워 놓고 도피했다는 얘기가 여전히 남아있고, 자신이 스탈린의 대역이었다고 주장하는 누군가는 "붉은 광장에서 대신 사열을 받고 연설도 했다" 이렇게 말했습니다.
There are still stories of Hitler leaving a look-alike in his place in order to escape after the end of World War II, and a person who claimed that he was the double of Stalin said he “reviewed troops and gave speeches at Red Square.”

카다피와 사담 후세인 등등 독재자일수록 암살을 두려워해 대중이 모인 자리에 대역을 내세웠다는 그럴듯한 이야기들입니다.
There are plausible stories of dictators, who feared being assassinated, using doubles when facing the public such as Muammar Gaddafi or Saddam Hussain.

비록 독재자라 할 수는 없겠지만, 그에 못지않은 권력의 상층부에 있었던 그 역시 대역이 필요했던 모양입니다.
Although we cannot call him a dictator, he, who used to be a powerful official, must have needed a double.
'진짜 김학의를 찾아라'
“Find the real Kim Hak-eui”
깊은 밤 공항에서는 때아닌 소동이 벌어졌습니다. 그와 닮은 누군가가 앞장서서 시선을 모으는 사이에 논란의 주인공은 건장한 경호원을 대동한 채 그 뒤를 따르고 있었지요.
There was commotion in an airport late at night. While a man who looked like Kim lead the group and drew attention, the person in question followed the double from behind, accompanied by burly bodyguards.

감쪽같았다고까지는 할 수 없었으나 그래도 기자들을 헷갈리게 할 만큼은 되어서… 질문이 대역에게 날아가는 촌극 끝에서야 진짜가 누군가를 알아챘다는 뒷얘기가 무성했습니다.
This stunt did not fool everyone, but it was enough to confuse reporters… Some say the reporters only realized which of them was real after asking questions to the imposter.

Despite his many excuses, the scene can only be described as elaborate.

더구나 이 난데없는 가게무샤 소동으로 인해서 재수사는 더욱 급물살을 타게 되었으니 그의 가게무샤는 어찌 보면 주군을 가려준 것이 아니라 그의 존재를 세상에 더 또렷하게 드러나게 해준 역설을 가져온 것이 아닌가…
Furthermore, because of the sudden Kagemusha commotion, instead of hiding its lord, the strategy backfired on Kim as the double put him in the spotlight and caused the reinvestigation to be intensified.

Kim has no one to take his place and has to face the controversy that concerns him, alone… That is why the kagemusha commotion in the airport that happened on a weekend night…. Was like a scene in a comedy show… And was also like a scene from a reality show…
