‘Gangster’ film to get U.S. remake

The upcoming film “The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil,” which has yet to be released in local theaters, will be remade in Hollywood.

The remake was announced Monday and will bring together Balboa Productions with Korean production studio B,A, Entertainment and a creative team run by actor Ma Dong-seok.

Ma plays the gang boss Jang Dong-su, who survives after accidentally being the target of a serial killer, and will play the same role in the American remake. The gang boss in the movie works with the police to catch the serial killer - a plot that was “appealing” to Balboa Productions.

Hollywood actor, director and producer Sylvester Stallone, who works with Balboa Productions, will jointly produce the film with B.A. Entertainment and Ma. The Korean version of the movie hits local theaters on May 15.
