Hyundai Mobis partners with MIT on car technology

Hyundai Mobis said Monday it is partnering with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

According to the auto parts maker, it joined MIT’s Industrial Liaison Program, a program dedicated to promoting mutually-beneficial relationships between MIT and corporations worldwide, early this year.

The program offers access to a range of technologies in development or developed by researchers at more than 300 research labs operated by MIT. The program also matches up partnering companies with a pool of start-ups founded by MIT alumni.

The partnership organized a lecture on Friday by Michael Schrage, a research fellow at MIT’s Sloan School Center for Digital Business. The subject was next-generation technologies. Some 50 managers of Hyundai Mobis attended.
