220,000 reserve seats for ‘Parasite’
“Parasite” took over 50 percent of all cinema ticket reservation across the country, the Korean Film Council said on Tuesday.The winner of the 72nd Cannes Film Festival’s Palme d’Or, there are already 220,000 moviegoers ready to watch “Parasite” when it hits local theatres on Thursday.
The film’s presales currently rank No. 1, taking over 50 percent of the entire reservation rate as of Tuesday afternoon, according to statistics from the Korean Film Council.
“The actors splendidly depict the joy, anger, sorrow and pleasures in the story,” director Bong Joon-ho told press on Monday at Incheon International Airport as he returned from Cannes.
“Please look closely for their impressive acting skills and the detail they portray in each character.”
