The new A50 mid-range Galaxy on sale Monday

Samsung Electronics will introduce a new mid-range Galaxy smartphone next week.

The electronics company announced Friday that it will start selling its Galaxy A50 online on Monday via the company’s website, 11st and WeMakePrice. The official launch date is June 14, but the company will pre-sell 3,000 units.

Prices will start at 473,000 won ($422), half the price of the Galaxy S10, which tops 1 million won.

Galaxy A50, powered by a 4,000 milliampere hour battery, features an on-screen fingerprint sensor, an Infinity U-Display panel and three cameras, which, according to Samsung, “are innovative functions that are embedded on its latest flagship model.”

The A50 has an 8 million pixel super wide-angle lens, a 25 million pixel wide-angle lens and a 5 million pixel depth lens, according to Samsung.

Samsung Pay and a fast 15 watt battery charger are also available.

The model will come in three colors: coral, black and white.

On June 14, the device will be officially unveiled by the three mobile operators - SK Telecom, KT and LG U+.

A model more affordable than the Galaxy A50 is the Galaxy Jean2, which went on sale Tuesday.

A follow-up to the first Galaxy Jean, released in June of last year, the price for the latest release is 253,000 won. It has three cameras, although they have fewer pixels than the A50.

The front camera of the Jean2 has 8 million pixels, while the cameras on the back have 13 million pixels and 5 million pixels.

Samsung still has the Galaxy Fold to release.

Although the premium foldable smartphone was scheduled for release in the United States on April 23, the company decided to delay the introduction after faults were reported by a handful of users, including technology journalists who had early access to the phone.

The company says it’s still unsure about the release date, but industry insiders speculate the phone will be unveiled by July at the latest.
