The Korea Importers Association will hold the 17th Import Goods Fair, the only imported goods exhibition in Korea, from June 27 to 29. [KOREA IMPORTERS ASSOCIATION]

The 17th Import Goods Fair (IGF) will be held from June 27 to 29 by the Korea Importers Association (Koima) at Hall B of Coex in southern Seoul.

Manufacturers from 77 countries - the largest number of participating nations ever - will participate in this year’s event to introduce their famous brands, specialties and innovative items to Korean importers and consumers.

The opening ceremony of this year’s event is expected to be attended by foreign ambassadors from 40 nations, experts from trade-related institutions, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as more than 20,000 distributors and general visitors.

The Import Goods Fair offers a great opportunity for domestic distributors to obtain global products from foreign manufacturers in a cost-efficient manner. More than 95 percent of the entry list is already filled up for this year’s event, indicating that the Import Goods Fair has been developed as a representative exhibition in Korea.

In this event, a B2B counseling session will be held to provide a B2B Matching Service between exhibitors and buyers.

A global sourcing team from Lotte Mart, a large domestic distributor in Korea, will run the Lotte Mart merchandise counseling booth.

In addition, a large number of retail buyers from discount stores, convenience stores, department stores, home shipping, supermarkets and large online retailers will attend the event.

The IGF will operate various free seminars for visitors. On the first day of the exhibition, Lotte Mart buyers will run a seminar on merchandise proposal methods, the Korea Conformity certification test and foreign exchange risk management as well as introduce specialties of South Pacific.

On the second day, Global Seller Lab, Korea’s top cross-border e-commerce company, and Cifnews, China’s top cross-border e-commerce company, will jointly hold a global e-commerce forum. Domestic and overseas e-commerce global companies such as Facebook, Alibaba Amazon and Coupang will attend this forum.

On the last day of the exhibition, Onchannel, which runs a lifelong education center and domestic retail market, will provide a lecture on starting import business.

Those who want to attend seminars can sign up online in advance. All seminars are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
