Chung Hyeon falls in round of 16 match at the VanOpen

Chung Hyeon lost his round of 16 match at VanOpen in straight sets on Thursday.

Facing Maxime Janvier of France, Chung lost 6-4 and 6-2 to face an early exit.

Having given up six serve aces in the first set, Chung lost just an hour after the start of the match.

With a loss, Chung’s record is now at nine wins and two losses since his return from an injury.

Having missed more than five months due to injuries, Chung made his return this month and got off to a great start by winning the International Challenger Chengdu in China.

Then, he continued his stride at Yokkaichi Challenger the following week by cruising through to the quarterfinals.

Chung ended his action in Japan early as well, as he withdrew from his quarterfinals match against Yuichi Sugita of Japan.
