‘Global Goal Live’ coming to Seoul

“Global Goal Live: The Possible Dream” will be held in Seoul on Sept. 26 2020, and will be put together by Lee Soo-man, the head of SM Entertainment, who is serving as music director.

According to SM Entertainment, Lee, co-CEO of SM Entertainment Kim Young-min, Global Citizen co-founder Simon Moss, Global Citizen’s Vice President of Global Policy & Government Affairs Madge Thomas and Dream Maker’s chairman Kim Sung-hak met at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Tuesday and confirmed Seoul as the venue for the charity concert next year.

“Global Goal Live: The Possible Dream” is a charity concert put together by Global Citizen, a civil organization where leaders, politicians and donors from the 193 United Nations countries take part. It has collected some $48.4 million since 2009 to this year, and has helped 880 million people around the world.

Next year’s concert will be livestreamed around the world throughout its 10-hour event.

Headliners are set to include Coldplay, Metallica, Muse, Usher, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Exo, Alicia Keys, BoA, Billie Eilish, Pharrell Williams and SuperM.

“I am so pleased to have invited the biggest charity concert on Earth to Seoul, representing Asia as a whole,” Lee said.

“As the concert’s director, I will make it a meaningful concert where the artists and audience can all become one and think about the problems that we face together.”
